We started supplying traditionally made solid Oak flooring when we wanted flooring for our own restoration project over 36 years ago and couldn't find a traditional, quality product at an affordable price, direct from the sawmill.  All Oak Flooring is made  to order, we have been supplying quality solid Oak flooring for over 36 years to domestic and trade clients.

Traditional Solid Oak floor boards are available in Select Character Grade and Rustic Character Grade. Giving our clients access to quality Traditional Oak Flooring at reasonable prices without the need to buy large retail quantities. Oak Flooring is suitable for home improvers, DIY and builders, made to order especially for you, we can also supply Oak Skirting, Architrave and Oak Doors, please email us for details.

Select Character Oak

Select Character Oak floor boards will be consistent in colour; a small amount of sound sap wood may be included.  Some knots and splits are usually included and may need filling; we prefer to use Dark Brown Wax for this however there are many excellent alternative products which are obtainable from good retail outlets. This grade has considerably less knots and splits included than our Rustic Character Oak grade of flooring.  Our Select Character grade Oak floor boards give a clean look to the floor; it looks good in modern properties and town houses. 

Rustic Character Oak

Rustic Character floor boards will contain a higher proportion of knots and  splits and sap wood than our Select Character Flooring, particularly at the ends of boards and we recommend that these are filled. We prefer to use Dark Brown Wax for this however there are many excellent alternative products which are obtainable from good retail outlets.

There may be colour variations and areas where the saw marks still show. These can be sanded after filling and the resulting surface irregularities add greatly to the overall character of the finished floor. This is by far our most popular grade and the character and charm of the wood tends to enhance period properties, farmhouses and barn conversions.

Sizes and Specification

T & G flooring boards are solid  Oak, about  21mm thick (not engineered or laminate) and are available in the following widths,180mm, 230mm, 280mm and are supplied in random lengths, the average length being about 2.4m (this is not guaranteed). All boards are fully seasoned and then kiln dried specifically for use as floor boards to ensure that they are stable when laid. We recommend that you order a minimum of 20% extra to allow for wastage when fitting.

Floor Finish

We supply Solid Traditional Oak Flooring for you, your carpenter or your specialist floor fitter to install. Floor boards do not come with a pre-finish as this allows you the flexibility to decide on the floor treatment of your choice after fitting.

With all grades of flooring  knots and splits may need filling. 

We do not sell floor finishing products and we are unable to recommend  floor fitters as we are a Sawmill and produce flooring for you or your fitter to install.

Prices

All prices shown are excluding VAT and do not include delivery.

When you place an order for Oak Flooring we will email you a VAT Invoice, lead-time starts from the point of payment in full, leadtime is about 8 weeks. When your order is ready we will contact you to arrange collection or delivery.

We quote on the basis of payment directly to our bank and this is the payment method we will accept.  Terms and Conditions of how we quote, payments accepted, how delivery or collection by appointment works can be found on our Ordering page.

In order to keep the price lower we do not cut and dry the timber used for flooring ourselves we source the raw material for our Oak flooring from suppliers in Europe, therefore the price of our flooring is linked to the exchange rate, production runs etc. so price may occasionally vary from time to time.

Delivery service available & Lead-time

Delivery charges depend on quantity and delivery address; please email us your post code for a delivery quote or call 01761-241333. Delivery will take a minimum of 8 weeks from receipt of your order; payment in full is required, direct to our bank from a UK bank account upon ordering as we will make this item to order for you.

For orders under 100m²  the lead-time may be longer depending on scheduled production runs, please ask us.

If the amount you require is less than 20m²  please ask us about lead-time as we may need to make your flooring with other orders which may add to the lead-time.  Producing smaller quantities is more expensive so the price may vary.

COVID/Flu etc.-Safe System Of Work. We work to HSE Health and Safety Policy and Safe System of Work and to meet our insurance obligations. We select the timber for you, this keeps our cost down which means you pay less for our timber.
