Rural Broadband & emails
Our email service is provided via remote countryside broadband; as this is a 'rural' service from time to time we experience difficulties sending and receiving emails.
Some enquiries will take longer to reply to as we may require a few hours to look at timber in order to match your enquiry requirements.
Your email enquiry is important to us; we do receive high numbers of emails and aim to respond within 12-24 hours. If you haven't received an email response within 24-48 hours please call our office to check that your email has been received.
Timber Yard (opening times)
Our Usual Hours
'Excluding Bank Holidays & Christmas & Easter'
Monday to Friday
8:30am - 4:30pm
*Wednesday, 6th February, Yard hours for this day: 1pm-4:30pm (by appointment only)
Why it's a good idea to book an appointment
We may need to arrange to get stacks of timber out for you to view, this may take an hour or so, booking an appointment helps you to avoid waiting.
We also need to ensure that the correct members of staff are on site to assist you (to help with your enquiry and to move timber and to meet our insurance requirements and HSE legislation)
Very occasionally we may be closed to the public due to staff training or working off site.
Lunch time visits to our Yard
When our staff take their lunch (usually between the hours of 1-2pm) as key members of staff are not available during this time you may have to wait for assistance.
Members of staff must be present for you to be able to look at timber by appointment, or to make a collection (for timber ordered in advance we always email you a selection of collection times, when staff will be available, so that you know when you can collect your order from us)
If you visit our Yard during lunchtime there will be a wait until a key member of staff is free to help you with your enquiry. (We are happy to provide this time to our staff and are legally obliged to allow our staff to have their lunch break)
Changes to opening times
Although we usually keep Yard hours Monday to Friday, the yard team occasionally works away from site or may be undergoing staff training at these times our Yard opening times will vary this is why we ask you to contact us before you visit.
Changes to our general opening times are always posted on this page.

Our answering machine
If you telephone us on a Saturday or Sunday please leave an answer machine message as the office and Yard are not open at the weekend and we will get back to you when we are back at work on Monday.
Yard visitors are welcome during general opening hours however, to avoid a wasted journey, please contact us before you visit, or if you are unable to pay us a visit, we will be happy to select your timber and dispatch it by carrier. When the weather is inclement (and it often is) our Yard can be very muddy. Unfortunately we can't do much about this, please wear suitable foot wear.

SAT NAV & Directions
Occasionally SAT NAVS are sending people into Wells, which is 5 minutes away from our actual location. If you need assistance with directions when lost please call our office for directions.
Please note that some online maps and SAT NAV devices list Wells Road Emborough as Bath Road causing some confusion and sending people to Bath by mistake.
We suggest that you double check our actual location before setting out to visit us.
We are located on the B3139, on the Mendip Hills about 1.5 miles from the A37, on the left as you head towards Wells in Somerset.
Distance: We are above the historic city of Wells in Somerset which is a 10 minute drive away. Bath and Bristol are also only a short distance from our yard, 16 miles drive by car. Bruton is also accessible by a short journey of 12 miles as are Frome and Glastonbury, London 2 1/2 hours.
We are fortunate to be surrounded by beautiful country side, pretty villages and historic areas all worth a visit as Somerset has so much to offer. Cheddar Gorge and Wookey Hole are both within a very short drive and are both sites of biological and geological interest.
Our favourite places to shop and have coffee can be found within ten minutes, our area also provides pleasant designer retail experiences at Kilver Court Designer Village with Mulberry, again only a short drive of 12 minutes from our sawmill. A 1/2 hour journey will take you to the designer outlet shopping complex at Clarks Village in Street.
