Your email enquiry is important to us; we do receive high numbers of emails and aim to respond within 12-24 hours. On some occasions it may take longer than this to reply.
Some enquiries will take longer to reply to as we may require a few hours to look at timber in order to match your enquiry requirements.

.....Yard Visiting Appointments...
...9am-12noon & 2pm-4pm...
Why book an appointment
During certain times we may be closed to the public as we are doing sawmilling and machining work etc. that is dangerous, at this time we have to restrict public access to our yard so that we meet our HSE obligations, Risk Assessment protocols and insurance criteria.
We may need to arrange to get stacks of timber out for you to view, this may take an hour or so, booking an appointment helps you to avoid waiting.
We also need to ensure that the correct members of staff are on site to assist you (to help with your enquiry and to move timber and to meet our insurance requirements and HSE legislation)
Lunch time visits to our Yard
When our staff take their lunch (usually between the hours of 1-2pm) as key members of staff are not available during this time you may have to wait for assistance.
Members of staff must be present for you to be able to look at timber by appointment, or to make a collection (for timber ordered in advance we always email you a selection of collection times, when staff will be available, so that you know when you can collect your order from us)
If you visit our Yard during lunchtime there will be a wait until a key member of staff is free to help you with your enquiry. (We are happy to provide this time to our staff and are legally obliged to allow our staff to have their lunch break)
Changes to opening times
Although we usually keep Yard hours Monday to Friday, the yard team occasionally works away from site or may be undergoing staff training at these times our Yard opening times and visiting/collection times will vary this is why we ask you to contact us before you visit.
Changes to our general opening times are always posted on this page.

Yard visitors are welcome during general visiting hours however, to avoid a wasted journey, please contact us before you visit, or if you are unable to pay us a visit, we will be happy to select your timber and dispatch it by carrier. When the weather is inclement (rainy, windy and it often is) our Yard can be very muddy. Unfortunately we can't do much about this, please wear suitable foot wear.

We are located on the B3139, on the Mendip Hills about 1.5 miles from the A37, on the left as you head towards Wells in Somerset.
Distance: We are above the historic city of Wells in Somerset which is a 10 minute drive away. Bath and Bristol are also only a short distance from our yard, 16 miles drive by car. We are 14 miles from Castle Carey and Frome. Bruton is also accessible by a short journey of 12 miles as is Glastonbury, London 2 1/2 hours. Please book an appointment by contacting our office.
We are fortunate to be surrounded by beautiful country side, pretty villages and historic areas all worth a visit as Somerset has so much to offer. Cheddar Gorge and Wookey Hole are both within a very short drive and are both sites of biological and geological interest.
Our favourite place to shop and have coffee can be found within ten minutes and is the small but perfectly formed city of Wells.
If you are unable to pay us a visit, we will be happy to select your timber and dispatch it by Parcel Carrier, Pallet Haulier or on our own Van (for local deliveries) for all deliveries charges will apply.
